What Should I Consider When Planting?
Check and rinse the leaves and other
parts of plants to get rid of insects. With plants such as rose
bushes, it is ok to use a water/bleach mix on the roots to prevent
pests and
disease.
Your container should have proper drainage. Use
clean rocks, shards of terra cotta, coffee filter, or screen over the
drainage hole. Fill with potting soil to the point where the roots
will reach, center the plant, and spread out roots if necessary.
Fill the rest of the way with potting soil and pat down (don't
pack!). The plant might experience some shock after transplanting,
but it should rebound.
